Ruth Molins teaches privately from her home, and within four schools: Okehampton Community College, Broadclyst Academy Primary School, St. Peter's High School (Exeter) and The Woodroffe School (Lyme Regis). She has over 10 years experience of teaching flute and piano, and has also previously taught at St. Michaels Primary, Newtown Primary and Walter Daw Primary.

Ruth teaches children from age 5 to adult. Her philosophy is that music is for everyone and that the understanding and enjoyment of rhythm and pitch can be found within every one of us at an innate level.

Ruth is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and The British Flute Society. She has a recent DBS (formely 'CRB') check and Public Liability Insurance.

Some quotes from students, parents and fellow professionals:

'My piano teacher is nice, and good. She teaches me well and made me good at the piano. She has made me like playing the piano.' Bemi, aged 9
'She is a really brilliant music teacher and she explains it well. I am glad to have her as my piano teacher!' Daisy, aged 8
'I just wanted to let you know that my daughter,  who has just started to learn the piano with you at Broadclyst Primary School, is thoroughly enjoying her lessons (though I know its early days!).' A parent
'Your relationship with the pupils is clearly  very warm and nurturing, and demonstrated a gentle put very clear and precise use of instruction and guidance of tasks and techniques. Good occasional use of humour to engage but also to defuse anxiety.' External lesson evaluation feedback
'Ruth has been my piano teacher for two years. In this time she has helped me reconnect with my love of playing the piano, which I had not regularly played for fifteen years. Ruth is a very patient, creative, thoughtful, organized and encouraging teacher. With her help, I passed my grade 5 theory exam and my grade 6 practical exam with merit. Ruth researched composers which related to my own interests as well as broadening my knowledge and tastes. She carefully plans lessons to make the most of our time. Ruth is also a real joy to work with and I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful teacher.' Elizabeth
